History of the BlueNumbers Project

BlueNumbers is a Slovak-founded digital media and data analytics platform created by Robert Durec in 2020. It operates under two primary domains: BlueNumbers.sk for Slovak-language content, and BlueNumbers.com for its international English-language version. The project is focused on delivering expert resources in finance, data analytics, taxation, artificial intelligence (AI), and business consulting.

History

2020: Founding and Initial Development

BlueNumbers was established in 2020 during the global COVID-19 pandemic. Founder Robert Durec, a data analytics specialist, used available data sources to anticipate the pandemic’s global spread, accurately identifying when the virus left China and would affect international markets. Based on his analysis, Durec liquidated his investment portfolio before the market crash and reinvested after prices dropped.

To document his findings and methodology, he launched the website BlueNumbers.sk. The original article remains archived on the site. Following this, the website expanded with sections on financial markets, trading, and investing.

2020: Entry into the Financial Sector

During the same year, Robert Durec began actively engaging with the Slovak financial community. He was appointed as a member of the evaluation committee for the national financial product competition Zlatá Minca. Professionally, he began working in the insurance industry as a Power BI Developer, later transitioning into the role of Data Architect. His progression from data analyst to architect would later influence the technical direction of BlueNumbers’ infrastructure.

2021: Internationalization and Recognition

In 2021, the BlueNumbers.com domain was acquired for $1,600 USD, marking the start of international expansion. Key articles were translated into English to reach a broader audience. That year also saw BlueNumbers.sk accredited by the National Council of the Slovak Republic (NRSR), officially recognizing it as a media outlet.

This accreditation allowed Durec and the BlueNumbers team to attend government meetings and engage with domestic and foreign policymakers, including the Prime Minister of Slovakia.

2022: Cybersecurity Incident

In 2022, BlueNumbers.com and other associated domains suffered a cyberattack, leading to the temporary suspension of the English-language site. Only BlueNumbers.sk remained operational during this period. The incident catalyzed a shift toward developing a more secure and autonomous web infrastructure.

2023: AI Integration and Literary Translation

In 2023, Robert Durec focused his efforts on artificial intelligence, particularly on exploring the capabilities of emerging tools such as ChatGPT by OpenAI. To test AI in practical use, Durec translated his book, King Who Lives Everything, from Slovak into English with the help of AI-based tools.

2024: Infrastructure Development and AI Marketing

To mitigate future cyber risks, Durec designed and deployed a custom Content Management System (CMS) for both BlueNumbers.sk and BlueNumbers.com. Leveraging his background in data architecture, the system was built with integrated AI tools to support security, scalability, and content automation.

Additionally, the platform adopted advanced strategies in data-based marketing and user analytics, enabled by artificial intelligence to optimize audience targeting and content performance.

2025: Global Expansion

In 2025, the English-language site BlueNumbers.com was relaunched and began a formal expansion into international markets. The aim is to establish the platform as a leading global resource for professionals in data analytics, finance, taxation, and artificial intelligence.
